Producer, WRITER, Consultant
Rachel Weise is an LA-based writer-producer, executive, and educator developing and producing character-driven film and television. A graduate of the AFI Conservatory, she has built a career spanning creative development, production, and executive leadership, with a focus on thoughtful, director-driven storytelling.
She previously worked as a creative executive at Maniac Productions (CHOIR, CODE BLACK), where she developed film and television projects under the company’s overall deal with Blumhouse. Producing credits include projects for the Disney / AFI Underrepresented Storytellers Initiative and AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women. Rachel’s AFI thesis film, The Erl King, was released on AMC’s premium streaming service Shudder. She is currently independently producing her own slate, including the feature JUNKIE, executive produced by Patty Jenkins, which premiered at AFI Fest 2025.
Prior to fully transitioning into creative production, she began her career in entertainment law, representing screenwriters and major industry players, including Netflix — experience that continues to inform her strategic, creator-first approach to development and production.
In addition to her producing work, Rachel is an active educator. She has taught for Sundance Collab and instructed undergraduate- and master’s-level courses at Mount Saint Mary’s University, bringing an industry-facing, development-driven perspective to emerging filmmakers.
Rachel is driven by developing work with a clear point of view and long-term creative ambition. She seeks out collaborators who are bold, intentional, and deeply invested in the storytelling process, approaching each project with an emphasis on thoughtful development and creative partnerships built to last.
Currently open to development, producing, and executive producing opportunities.
